Using a pile of rusty nails as his inspiration, Randy Kirk made the transformation from a structural welder and fabricator to a fine craftsman and artist. For the past 15 years, Randy has made a career creating custom rails, sliding doors, and staircases for the home building and construction industries. Working with metal soon grew into a love of experimental creation with textural metals and other organic materials.

Company history Randy began his metal design work building furniture and high-end architectural structures with Gulassa & Co. in Seattle, WA , and has worked with both nationally recognized architects and esteemed designers. He now creates unique tables, benches, wall hangings, and other custom designs from his home studio on Vashon Island, Washington, where he founded Vashon Steelworks in 2004.
